About Me
Hey there!
I’m Eleni! I’ve been a horse fanatic as long as I can remember; I read every horse book at my library as a kid (yes, really), collected model horses, and daydreamed about having my own herd someday. My official equestrian education began at a local rescue facility where I learned the basics of groundwork and horse care while loving on the sweet horses. At 12, I was given my first horse. She taught me a lot about trust, respect, and determination. I’ve had horses in my life ever since.
My first riding experiences were riding bareback with a halter. My sister’s horse, Lia, was a saint and took great care of me, tolerating all my shenanigans. After months of begging my parents for lessons, they signed me up at a local western barn. I loved the technical side of riding and especially enjoyed doing “trail class” courses with my lesson horse. I caught the jumping bug as a teen and switched to English riding. Over the years, I’ve had many opportunities to ride lots of wonderful horses. I conditioned with endurance riders, participated in 4H, horse-camped with friends, and learned everything I could about training. I’ve worked with a handful of younger horses and always enjoy the process of teaching while learning from them.
Aside from my own riding and training, I’ve taught beginner riding lessons and worked as an assistant barn manager at an English show barn in the past.
Becoming an Equine Bodyworker
I became interested in equine bodywork one summer after meeting an amazing massage therapist and watching her work. Her ability to help horses in such a gentle manner was beautiful to watch, and the difference in their temperament and movement was distinct. That inspired me to pursue bodywork education in California beginning in 2018.
I focused on Bowen training first, which began with work on people, then dogs, and then horses. Along with my Bowen certificates, I have taken massage classes, interned with a wonderful massage/cranial-sacral therapist, and took a barefoot hoof care class. I’m passionate about helping horses relax and restoring balance to their body through different modalities and simple exercises I teach their owners.
My Horse
Dante is a 10 year old Andalusian and my best four legged friend. I officially purchased him as a 7 year old in early 2021, but we’ve been friends since he was 2. We do classical dressage, liberty, and lots of trail riding. He has been one of my greatest teachers and I’m so grateful to him for trusting me so sincerely. He’s the horse on my logo; his little “thumbs up” marking was too iconic not to feature.
